5G is the latest in mobile communications and is set to launch soon in India.  It will offer a huge boost in mobile speed and is expected to be the future standard in telecommunications. 5G will provide a download speed of up to 10 gigabits per second, which is much faster than the 100 megabits per second offered by 4G. 

Although the technology is still being developed, it is likely to be publicly available by 2020.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is planning to introduce 5G services in India. In this regard, the regulatory authority will be issuing 5G licenses. According to the government, 5G services will be available in India by 2020.  The government plans to use 5G services to provide broadband internet connectivity to all households.  

Vodafone and Reliance Jio have already started testing 5G services in India. 5G services were rolled out in November 2017 in select areas of India's tech capital Bengaluru. It is expected that 5G will make internet 300 times faster than 4G services.

5G is still in its infancy stage. 5G is expected to be available commercially by 2020. The Indian telecom ministry is working on the guidelines to bring 5G services in India.

 Currently, there is no such thing as "5G". 5G is simply the name given to the next generation of wireless communication standards. 5G networks are being designed to provide more bandwidth, faster speeds and lower latency.

As of now, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has not yet announced any timeline for the rollout of fifth generation (5G) services in India. 

However, reports suggest that the Telecom Commission will be finalising its recommendations for the 5G rollout in near future. It is expected that 5G services may be launched in 2020.

In telecommunications, 5G is the fifth-generation technology standard for broadband cellular networks, which cellular phone companies began deploying worldwide in 2019, and is the planned successor to the 4G networks which provide connectivity to most current cellphones.
